A Spanish nuclear energy plant was shut down following an electrical energy failure, native media reported late on Tuesday. Strong winds reportedly triggered the blackout within the northeast of the nation.
Operations on the Vandellos II 1,000-megawatt nuclear energy station, situated in Catalonia, Spain, had been dropped at a halt on Tuesday afternoon, Europapress.es reported, citing Nuclear Association Asco-Vandellos II and the Nuclear Safety Council (CSN).
Strong winds within the space had been reportedly behind the electrical energy scarcity. The shutdown was computerized following the ability outage. According to the plant: “All the safety systems worked as planned” and the there’s at present no hazard.
The plant has notified the CSN of the incident. The outage didn’t trigger any hurt to the surroundings or the plant’s employees, CSN mentioned in a press release. Once the ability is restored, the plant will probably be again on-line.
