One-Way Aisles Nationwide – Are Here to stay..

These ‘coronavirus rules’ have been such an overreaction since the beginning, now this one-way aisle bullshit is just stupid and I WILL NOT be following this rule when I go to the stores. I haven’t been out since this has happened; I haven’t wore a mask or gloves and don’t plan on it. Quotes of different stores and policies are included below:

Kroger and Walmart test one-way aisles

The one-way aisle is the latest traffic-control measure to be implemented by US grocery retailers to encourage physical distancing during the coronavirus pandemic. Kroger, the nation’s largest supermarket operator, is testing one-way aisles at stores in certain markets to determine their effectiveness in providing appropriate distancing between customers, according to a statement released Monday.

Retailers such as Hy-Vee and Walmart have made similar moves, according to a report from industry news source Grocery Dive, which noted that in places like Connecticut, one-way aisles are mandated as emergency regulations. “We expect this to help more customers avoid coming into close contact with others as they shop,” Dacona Smith, Walmart US’ executive vice president and chief operating officer, wrote in an April 3 announcement.

Stop & Shop is implementing one-way aisles at all stores

The latest grocery store initiative to limit the spread of the coronavirus: One-way lanes.

Jen Brogan, a Stop & Shop spokeswoman, says the Quincy-based supermarket chain instituted one-directional aisles Tuesday at all stores — including its 132 locations in Massachusetts — in the hopes of increasing physical distance between customers in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak.

“We’ve implemented aisles that are one-way traffic only beginning today to better enable both customers and associates to practice social distancing,” Brogan told in an email Tuesday.

To inform customers of the new pattern, Stop & Shop is putting up “one-way traffic only” signs and taping directional arrows to the floor at the ends of each aisle. They’re also using bins to lightly guide shoppers.

Publix aisles are now one-way to increase social distancing

Publix may be taking social distancing a step further than the rest – literally.

All store aisles are now marked with arrows, making them one-way only. The company told 10News the goal is to keep shoppers from crossing paths unnecessarily.

The Centers for Disease Control strongly recommends staying six feet away from other people when you have to leave your home, and Publix believes its one-way aisles will help people do that. The change took effect Wednesday at all Publix stores.

These aren’t the only stores abiding by the draconian coronavirus measures. Mostly all supermarkets and other stores are proving a false sense of security by making you follow these ridiculous rules. Hopefully these measures aren’t staying forever.. Sure seems like it!
