The phone number that appeared on the screen was unfamiliar. Jennifer DeStefano almost let it go to voicemail, but her 15-year-old was out of town skiing. Maybe there had been an accident. “I pick up the phone, and I hear my daughter’s voice, and it says, ‘Mom!’ and she’s sobbing,” DeStefano recalled. “I said, ‘What happened?’ And she said, ‘Mom, I messed up,’ and she’s sobbing and crying.” In a split second, DeStefano’s confusion turned to terror. “Then I hear a man’s voice say, ‘Put your head back. Lie down,’ and I’m like, ‘Wait, what is going on?’” DeStefano said.…

The proposal would target those who are deemed to be “notorious violators in the digital space”, particularly anonymous trolls, the Tagesschau broadcaster reported. The ministry said that the drastic measure of a court banning an…

Fatal cases have been reported in COVID-19 vaccine recipients caused by blood clotting. Concerns of blood clots hindered the vaccine rollout for the general public and no efficient screening tests are available for the prediction of blood clotting, negatively impacting national economy and social freedom. In response to this grand challenge, this project aims to develop efficient point-of-care (POC) microdevices to help people predict their risk of blood clots risks when making health choices, such as COVID-19 vaccination. Organ-on-chip is a promising solution for assessing blood clot formation and holds great potential for marketable POC microdevices. To this end, chief…

An April 8 filing on the Federal Election Commission’s (FEC) website led to reports that DeSantis had declared his candidacy but the filing has signs indicating it is a fake, including missing the capital “S” in DeSantis in several places. The form listed South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem as the vice presidential candidate. However, running mates are typically not named until after a candidate has won their party’s nomination for president. DeSantis’ office and the FEC have been contacted for comment. Source
