It took 20 years of hunting, but a dedicated scientist has discovered her Holy Grail: A woman with superhuman sight who can see 99 million much more colours than the typical human being.
While she cannot see through walls or turn her eyes into a heat ray, the unidentified woman is a ‘tetrachromat’, with the capability to see much higher colour depth than almost everybody else in the world.
Dr Gabriele Jordan, a researcher at the Institute of Neuroscience has spent the last 20 years on a mission to find a person with superhuman sight.

Vision is one of the most complex of the senses, and how the eyes perceive colour is broken down by ocular cells named cones.
Most individuals have three types of cones, and are described as becoming ‘trichromatic’.
Discover magazine reported that whilst Dr Jordan and her team discovered a number of tetrachromats, only one could pass her test, which included showing three coloured circles with a difference that no one but a accurate tetrachromat could detect.
