    Halliburton to plead guilty to destroying evidence in Deepwater Horizon disaster

    Halliburton Energy Services has accepted criminal responsibility and will plead guilty to destroying evidence in the Deepwater Horizon disaster, according to multiple news outlets.

    Halliburton was charged with one count of destroying evidence relating to whether or not the 2010 well blowout in the Gulf of Mexico could have been prevented.

    According to reports the Justice Department said the company has signed a cooperation and guilty plea agreement and will pay the maximum fine.
