    Objectives. To consider motorcar crash fatality charges within the first 2 states with leisure marijuana legalization and examine them with motor car crash fatality charges in related states with out leisure marijuana legalization.

    Methods. We used the US Fatality Analysis Reporting System to find out the annual numbers of motorcar crash fatalities between 2009 and 2015 in Washington, Colorado, and eight management states. We in contrast year-over-year adjustments in motorcar crash fatality charges (per billion car miles traveled) earlier than and after leisure marijuana legalization with a difference-in-differences strategy that managed for underlying time tendencies and state-specific inhabitants, financial, and visitors traits.

    Results. Pre–leisure marijuana legalization annual adjustments in motorcar crash fatality charges for Washington and Colorado have been much like these for the management states. Post–leisure marijuana legalization adjustments in motorcar crash fatality charges for Washington and Colorado additionally didn’t considerably differ from these for the management states (adjusted difference-in-differences coefficient = +0.2 fatalities/billion car miles traveled; 95% confidence interval = −0.4, +0.9).

    Conclusions. Three years after leisure marijuana legalization, adjustments in motor car crash fatality charges for Washington and Colorado weren’t statistically completely different from these in related states with out leisure marijuana legalization. Future research over an extended time stay warranted.
