Feinstein released a press release detailing her newest gun control legislation, which is aimed at stopping the production of what she terms “military style assault weapons”, strengthening the restrictions on bump stocks and other types of stock may be used on a rifle, and includes provisions regarding “assault pistols.”
The bill would ban the production of “205 military-style assault weapons by name”, and require existing guns to be kept in “a secure gun storage or safety device like a trigger lock.”
Additionally, the bill would ban bump stocks at a congressional level, as the existing ban happened in the judiciary branch and is being challenged legally through the courts. Feinstein noted this in December of 2018, foreshadowing this legislative action.
