A model who claimed to have recordings revealing ties between President Trump and Russians was detained in Moscow Thursday on prostitution allegations.
Police in Moscow announced that Anastasia Vashukevich was detained at the Sheremetyevo airport, according to The Washington Post.
Vashukevich was deported from Thailand earlier in the day after spending nine months in prison on charges of conspiracy and soliciting prostitution.
Early during her sentence the Belarusian escort said she had 16 hours of audio recordings from August 2016 that allegedly include Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, talking about that year’s U.S. presidential election.
The billionaire has links to former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who was indicted on charges of financial crimes by special counsel Robert Mueller.
Vashukevich offered the tapes to the U.S. in exchange for asylum. Thai officials turned down a FBI request to meet with Vashukevich and another “sex coach” to discuss the information regarding the alleged tapes.
However, in August, Vashukevich said she had given the tapes to Deripaska for “a little something” in return.
