The mission would launch with a SpaceX Dragon Capsule atop a SpaceX Falcon Rocket and will fly to Mars for on a mission that will last for over 501 days. The 2 person crew and capsule would not land on the red planet, but would circle Mars.
If this mission doesn’t take advantage of the ‘special’ launch date in 2018 the next possible launch would be around 2031.
