Producers of The Simpsons cartoon sequence are pulling an episode that includes Michael Jackson following renewed allegations of kid abuse in a brand new documentary. Reaction has been blended, with many accusing the present of hypocrisy.

HBO’s new documentary ‘Leaving Neverland,’ comprises a slew of allegations of kid sexual abuse towards pop icon Michael Jackson, made by his accusers Wade Robson and James Safechuck.

In the 1991 Simpsons episode ‘Stark Raving Dad,’ Homer meets a person named Leon Kompowsky who believes he’s Michael Jackson.

Kompowsky befriends Homer’s son Bart and even sings a once-popular birthday tune for Lisa.

Executive producers of the long-running animated sequence have determined to take away the episode, which options the voice of the popstar, from syndication and streaming companies within the US.

The information follows selections by radio stations throughout the globe to take away the star’s music from their playlists.

“The guys I work with – where we spend our lives arguing over jokes – were of one mind on this,” Simpsons producer James L. Brooks informed the Wall Street Journal, including that it “feels clearly the only choice to make.”

Online response to the information was blended, with many saying it was the appropriate transfer to make.
