High-ranking FBI officials will face questioning by US lawmakers over whether they failed to spot red flags surrounding slain Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev. The officials will appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee in a closed hearing later on Tuesday.
The South Korean defense minister has received a threatening letter that also contained an unidentified white powder, Yonhap News reported. It was not immediately clear where the letter originated from, or what its exact contents were. The ominous message follows weeks of posturing from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who has repeatedly threatened to use nuclear missiles on the South.

The US House of Representatives has passed the controversial Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protect Act (CISPA). Lawmakers in the House voted 288-to-127 Thursday afternoon to accept the bill. Next it will move to the Senate and could then end up on the desk of US President Barack Obama for him to potentially sign the bill into law.
